I also love the tile design that has the masks, the animals, the temples, the koi fish, and the musical instruments. Combined with the river background it's by far the best Mahjong Solitaire game I've found in this store so far.

I love the simplicity of playing this board, the look, clarity, and the variety of the positions of the tiles, and the relaxing music. But it would be perfect if the "time star" never showed: it just reminds me of how slow I am getting in my old age.

Completing every goal, playing every board, including all of the premium boards that are currently available has been incredibly enjoyable. I have been so pleased with that game that I decided to try Mahjong Epic as well.

So far I like it. I was looking for something that would be relaxing and not a lot of craziness. I like the backgrounds.

As long as each board has at least one solution then I can eventually solve them all without using reshuffle and without worrying about a timer.

My tablet case works better for me in portrait mode and games in portrait mode are hard to find. The game is pretty basic, no bells and whistles and can get boring after a while. The almost-traditional symbols are sometimes too small to see details and, at first, it takes a lot of trial and error to recognize them. Also, if there are two choices for a match, it would be great if Undo was a simple backspace, but that isn't an option.
The array of available backgrounds is impressive but not important; simpler graphics could reduce app size. The music is hypnotic; with a few tweaks this game would become a favorite!
Pretty new tiles Jan 2, By HannahRF. Always enjoyed this game of Majong! Lots of different fun tiles to choose from. Some very detailed and hard to distinguish one from another on the phone. Fine on a laptop and iPad. But do not like the ads in your faceband this is not the only app that allows ads to ruin a game, but they did seem to stop by the fourth game so that is a plus.

Options to change tiles, hints, sound, etc. Can save progress to cloud. My wife and I tackle a puzzle together or she silently watches me flounder, then helps me out. Good clean fun. My main complaint is that many of the ads hide the close box for now past 30 seconds to force the user to have to stare at the ad. Finally got sick of having to have earphones in when trying to play this in a quiet mandatory location stupid ads with sound. The game is not good enough to have to suffer through ad after ad to play it for a while.

I played a lot of mahjong games over the years before I found the two from Kristanix -- and now I've pretty much stopped playing anything else. These games are so beautiful, so relaxing, and so addictive that I've spent eight months solving the boards they offer plus the new daily games! And the customizability is nearly endless. While the only noticeable difference is that Titan is in portrait mode and Epic is in landscape -- so it's just a matter of tilting the iPad sideways to play one or the other -- I've managed to solve all boards available in Titan, but only in Epic.
They're the best free apps I've ever played, but it's worth throwing a few bucks at the developers for such spectacularly well-designed games.
